Chitawon Construction & Engineering Co. Nepal (P) Ltd. or popularly known as Chitawon Co-E Nepal (P) Ltd. is a leading reputed and well equipped Civil Contractor of Nepal with excellent repute and proven track record of over 4 decades. The Company founded by its Chairman/Managing Director Mr. L.B. Shrestha is named after a popular District of Nepal; Chitawon as Mr. Shrestha started his first contract in this district.

Four decades of proven experience has resulted the company in being entrusted with major projects in both Government and Private Sector. The company is professionally managed company with strong institutional framework with top priority given to high quality services and guaranteed product.

In recognition of its excellence in construction performance and contribution to the

development of the construction technology and management the company was presented, by the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors' Association (IFAWPCA), Gold Medal for Civil and Silver Medal for Building Category in the year 1999. Likewise the company received the prestigious World Quality Commitment International Gold Star for quality in the realm of Customer Satisfaction, Leadership, Innovation and Technology at Paris France in 2002 and was again awarded the “Udhyog Ratna” award by Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi, India in 2002 in recognition to the Excellence in Productivity, Quality Innovation & Management.

In recognition to the excellent Managerial capability, the Chairman Mr. Laxman Babu Shrestha was awarded “Manager of the Year” award by Management Association of Nepal in 1999.

The firm was registered as a proprietorship concern in the year 1966. Having proven its performance in various construction jobs with excellent result, the Company was promoted to class ‘A’ Contractor in the year 1978.

The Company is a Private Limited Company and is managed by the board of directors. The present capital structure of the Company is as follows.

Chitawon Co-E is a professionally managed company. The company is managed by a board headed by its Chairman / Managing Director and is responsible for overall management and control and also for policy formulation, strategic planning and major decision of the company’s affair.

Based on the policy and guideline of the board, a management committee headed by the

Managing Director actively looks after the effective operation and management of company operation on day to day basis. The managing director is assisted by the other member of the managing committee i.e. directors – Works and Director-Finance/Administration.

The top level management is then assisted by the General Manager, Deputy General Manger, Managers Etc on top level and they are assisted by their subordinates at various level.

The site management or the project site office comes has an independent management structure and the site management reports to the head office. The work sites or the offices are headed by Project Managers/Engineers who directly reports to the head office. They are empowered and authorized adequately to ensure effective site management. The Project Manager is assisted by his subordinates for various department or activity as Accounts & Finance, Store and Procurement, site execution and plant and equipment.

Human resource development is given top priority at Chitawon Co-E for better performance. All the staff members are well educated and have high degree of experience in their respective field. On the job training as well as formal training are periodically provided. The staff members are adequately encouraged and motivated with all facilities at par with the best in the industry are provided.
